Chow Health

The previous CCCI pedigree database is being incorporated into the Chow Health pedigree database. I am working on this as fast as I can but the process takes time as the data for each dog is compared individually between the two databases and missing information is entered. If you know specific dogs whose data is incomplete, let me know who they are and I'll work on those first. I appreciate your patience during this changeover.

Welcome to the CCCI Chow Health Website.

The Chow Chow Club Inc. hopes that you find this site a useful place to resource and contribute information. Our goal is to educate and to increase awareness of owners, breeders and admirers on the health and temperament of the chow chow.

The CCCI Chow Health (formally the OFA) Database is now online. Click the search link on the main menu. The online database contains all the OFA and CERF information I have collected for the club. I hope that by placing the database online, it will become a useful tool for improving the health of chows.

Improvements to Chow Health Website

I want to let you know about some of the improvements to the Search functions of the Chow Health website. By clicking on "Pedigree Search" on the left side of the opening screen, you'll be taken to a page where you can search by:

Dog's name
Call name
Owner
Breeder

and you can also get:

dogs recently added to the database with health certifications
(i.e. most recent OFA quarter)

   all dogs with photos

   all dogs with OFA hip numbers

   all dogs with OFA elbow numbers

   all dogs with patella, cardiac, thyroid, CERF, or CHIC numbers
   respectively

All search results display in alphabetical order. This makes it easier to look through the results of a search.

I also want to remind everyone that this database is only as complete as you help us make it. We could really use more dogs, more photos, more pedigrees, and help completing some of the pedigrees.    Your Chow doesn't have to have a health certification to be included. Everyone is welcome.   I have made it pretty easy to submit pedigrees and photos, just click on the "submit pedigree" link on the home page.
